The Weight

Since my youngest child is seven years old, I don't think I can dismiss my weight as "baby weight" anymore.  My BMI is now 30.5 which puts me officially in the obese category.  I will be turning 40 in April and, coincidentally, I have 40 pounds to lose.

So....I joined a gym.  I plan to work my schedule around going there to work out every day.

And....I signed up for http://www.sparkpeople.com/, a free on-line site where I can count calories and make sure I am getting enough protein.

I would love to be down to my target weight by the time I turn 40, but I don't think forty pounds in four months is really practical.  Instead I'm going to shoot for losing half of that by April.  That would mean five pounds each month.

Goal #1     5 lbs.     February 1st
